Avast Vs Malwarebytes – How Do They Compare?

It’s important to protect your data from cyber threats regardless of whether you’re using a social media or your computer to browse the web. Two of the most renowned and trusted antivirus programs are Avast and Malwarebytes. Both programs are alike, but they each have their own features that make them different.

While Avast’s free version is an excellent alternative, it’s a basic security that doesn’t track ransomware or malware. Premium tiers are more inclusive. The company’s most expensive plan, Premium + privacy, includes a no-log VPN that prevents unauthorized trackers, masks your position, and encrypts the connection.

One of the most significant benefits of Avast is its extensive malware detection system. In AV Comparatives tests Avast scored a 5.5/6. The algorithm based on heuristics and machine learning algorithms are both excellent for detecting new threats. The program also blocks more than 1.5 billion attacks every month, which is greater than the average of its peers.

Malwarebytes may not be your most appropriate choice for those looking to run an anti-virus with real-time protection. The program scans the files on your PC, and does not block malware from entering the system from the outside. The paid plans offered by the company include both antimalware and antivirus, including security for ransomware as well as exploit protection.

Both programs have a user-friendly and easy-to-use interface, but Avast is more customizable and expansive. Its security options and settings are more expansive than those of Malwarebytes which could make it a bit confusing for beginners. Avast offers a range of additional security and utility features that are not available in Malwarebytes paid tiers.
